The city of Curitiba, capital of the State of Parana in southeast Brazil, opted for sustainable development back in the 1960s by increasing the number of bus lanes, modernizing administrative and social services, implementing rubbish sorting, preserving green spaces…
Curitiba has now become a model for sustainable development. Agence Française de Développement has decided to support the municipality by financing the extension of its public transport network and the creation of an ecological corridor in the city center. This is AFD’s first “urban biodiversity” operation.
